There are three great reasons you should not be a real estate agent.

Are you wondering if being a real estate agent is the right career choice for you? There are many careers to choose from, and it’s enticing to look at real estate and only see the successful agents. Beautiful homes, fancy cars, and suits all look great, but the reality is not like that in the movies. Here’s why you don’t want to become a real estate agent:

1. You are lazy. If you are someone who prefers to be at home watching TV or sleeping in, this is probably not the career for you. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying your free time—there are different types of people in this world. Being a real estate agent requires dedication to your brand, strict schedule adherence, and non-stop work to find the next lead because if you don’t, you don’t get paid.

“The reality is not like that in the movies.”

2. You are impatient. If you like instant gratification, you become easily discouraged when things don’t happen right away, and you don’t like waiting for something, it’s time to find another job. Real estate is all about harvesting the fruit you planted months or years ago. Nothing happens right away. It takes time to build your brand and find the right person to do business with you. With time, patience, and lots of hard work, however, you will start seeing results.

3. You are a quitter. If you don’t finish things, are a natural procrastinator, or even find it hard to complete projects, this career probably won’t serve you well. In the real estate world, not finishing things right away means you miss out on golden opportunities and won’t get paid. Without the right attitude, you simply will not perform.

On the other hand, if you are hard-working, patient, and aren’t willing to give up, you might just be the country’s next top agent without even knowing it. Call or email me with any questions. Have a great day.
